The OnePlus 13 has made its debut in China as the brand’s latest flagship smartphone and one of the first devices to launch with Qualcomm’s top-of-the-line Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.

(Update, December 18: The OnePlus 13 Series is launching globally!)

In China, pricing is set at ¥4,499 (around $632 or P36,835) for the base configuration with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, climbing to ¥5,999 ($842 or P49,117) if you opt for the top-shelf variant with a whopping 24GB RAM and 1TB storage. It arrives in three colorways — Obsidian, White, and Blue, with the latter sporting a faux-leather backplate.

The 3 color variants

As with previous generations, the OnePlus 13 is expected to launch in global markets in late 2024 or early 2025, and an international release might include the Philippines if history is any indication. Locally, the OnePlus 12 was priced at P64,990 ($1,114) at launch for the sole 16GB/512GB model.

Specs-wise, the latest OnePlus flagship offers a top-end AMOLED display from BOE, a camera setup tuned by Hasselblad, and a hefty 6,000mAh battery that uses silicon-carbon technology to offer more power density than traditional lithium batteries, just like OPPO’s recently announced Find X8 series.

This battery is the largest OnePlus has ever put in a smartphone, and it’s rated to offer up to 11 hours of video playback. The OnePlus 13 offers the same charging speeds as its predecessor, maxing out at 100 watts with the included charger and cable or 50 watts when using the company’s fast wireless charger.

The screen size stays the same with a 6.82-inch AMOLED panel featuring smooth refresh rates up to 120Hz, a crisp 1440p resolution, a peak brightness of 4,500 nits, and a DisplayMate A++ rating. While the display is a touch flatter than the previous iteration, it still retains those subtle curves that make it a joy to hold.

Highest-rated screen

The OnePlus 13 is now IP69-rated — up from IP65 on the OnePlus 12 — meaning it can withstand even the most intense water and dust encounters. Unlocking your phone is also a breeze, thanks to an ultrasonic fingerprint reader that should deliver better performance in low light or when attempting to unlock the device with wet fingers, compared to the embedded optical reader featured on most smartphones.

Around the back, you’ll find a Hasselblad-branded triple camera setup in a circular module. The main 50-megapixel camera, powered by Sony’s LYT-808 sensor, is optically stabilized and promises exceptional image quality. It’s joined by a 3x periscope lens for those long-range shots and a 15mm-equivalent ultrawide that doubles as a macro lens.

In terms of software, the OnePlus 13 boots Android 15-based ColorOS 15 in China, but international users can expect OxygenOS 15.
