Things are about to get exciting for existing Xiaomi smartphones, tablets, and wearables — at least, software-wise — following the announcement of Xiaomi‘s HyperOS 2 update plans for eligible devices outside of its native China.

HyperOS 2, based on Android 15, is rolling out to a massive roster of devices, bringing a suite of AI-powered features and performance enhancements. This month, current flagships like the Xiaomi 14 series, the foldable Xiaomi MIX Flip, and the recent Xiaomi 14T series, which debuted in the Philippines last September, will get the upgrade. December will see a second wave, bringing HyperOS 2 to everything from the Xiaomi 13 Ultra to the Redmi Note 12 and a slew of POCO models.

Interestingly, HyperOS 2 won’t be the first OTA update for global devices based on Google’s latest firmware. Earlier this month, our Xiaomi 14 received a stable version of the HyperOS 1.1 based on Android 15, confirming earlier reports that the said update has started rolling out to some users in select regions.

Keep in mind that the OTA rollout will vary by region. Still, it’s encouraging to see Xiaomi’s commitment to bringing HyperOS 2 to a wide range of current and older products.

HyperOS 2 isn’t just a re-skinned Android 15. Xiaomi is injecting a heavy dose of AI with HyperAI, introducing an adaptive lock screen that learns your habits, supercharged voice-to-text transcription, and AI-powered fraud protection. There’s even a new tool that uses AI to generate unique wallpapers. Of course, the interface is getting a refresh, too, with customizable widgets and dynamic animations.

Meanwhile, HyperCore digs deep into system optimization, minimizing CPU idle time for better battery life, reducing memory latency for faster app launches, and enhancing graphics performance for smoother visuals, especially in demanding games. Dynamic Memory and Storage 2.0 also promise to further enhance system responsiveness.
