Xiaomi Philippines has just dropped the Redmi 14C alongside the P1,799 (roughly $32) Redmi Watch 5 Active.

While it may be a budget smartphone, it’s a head-turner with its sleek design, attention-grabbing four-lens rear camera setup, and slim and lightweight build at 8.2mm. There are three color variants released for local consumers — Midnight Black, Starry Blue, and Dreamy Purple — but we particularly like the blue one, which looks like it’s dotted with stars circling the celestial pole.

With its 6.88-inch screen, the Redmi 14C offers a cinematic viewing experience on mobile. The high refresh rate of 120Hz should result in smooth and seamless visuals, even when scrolling through fast-paced content. The display is also eye-friendly, thanks to its TUV Rheinland certification and built-in DC dimming.

Imaging is handled by a 50-megapixel AI-enabled dual camera on the back and a 13-megapixel selfie shooter. You can use them often, as the phone is equipped with a large battery with a 5,160mAh capacity, which is capable of fast charging at 18 watts, by the way.

Under the hood of the Redmi 14C is a MediaTek Helio G81-Ultra octa-core chipset paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. And it’s running on the latest Xiaomi HyperOS.

Pricing and availability

The Redmi 14C is now available for online purchase in the Philippines. It will be rolled out to official Xiaomi outlet stores starting October 11.

The 4GB/128GB version is priced at P4,999 ($88), while the 6GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB models comes with respective price tags of P5,999 ($106) and P6,999 ($123). But if you buy the latter two on Shopee by October 11, you’ll get them for only P5,499 ($97) and P6,499 ($115), respectively.
