OPPO A3 levels up with more RAM, storage in the Philippines

Remember the OPPO A3? It’s the phone that promised military-grade durability without breaking the bank — or your phone, for that matter. Well, OPPO has recently made it even more tempting with some key upgrades on the inside.

Originally launched in the Philippines last month with a respectable 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, the OPPO A3 now flexes its muscles with a new 8GB RAM option, paired with either 128GB or a generous (for the segment) 256GB of storage.

The upgraded OPPO A3 is available now in Starlight White and Sparkle Black at OPPO stores across the Philippines and online via Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok Shop. Prices start at P9,999 (around $173) for the 8GB/128GB model and go up to P11,999 ($208) for the top-of-the-line 8GB/256GB configuration. And if you’re looking for an affordable payment plan, Home Credit has you covered with installments as low as P509 ($9) per month for up to 18 months.

But the A3’s real claim to fame remains its tank-like build. OPPO boasts U.S. Military Grade Shock Resistance and a five-star drop-resistance rating from SGS. So, go ahead, toss it in your bag, fumble it during your commute — this smartphone can supposedly handle it. Plus, with the brand’s Splash Touch technology, which allows for precise and responsive scrolling when the screen is wet, and Multiple Liquid Resistance, rainy days and accidental spills are no sweat.

Beyond its durability, the device packs a 6.67-inch HD+ display with a reasonably smooth 90Hz refresh rate and 1,000 nits of peak brightness for outdoor viewing. A 50-megapixel main camera and a 5-megapixel selfie shooter round out the package.

Under the hood, things get a bit more interesting. The company has equipped the OPPO A3 with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 1, a new 4G chipset that seems to have flown under the radar. Details are scarce, but Qualcomm claims it builds upon the Snapdragon 662. Paired with a 5,100mAh battery that supports 45-watt SUPERVOOC 2.0 fast charging, the A3 promises all-day performance.
