But Infinix’s focus on longevity doesn’t stop with the user experience. It also equipped the HOT 50 Pro+ with a high-density 5,000mAh cell that’s truly in it for the long haul. Infinix claims this battery can endure an astounding 1,600 charge cycles.
To put that into perspective, most phone batteries tap out after 500 to 800 cycles. Do the math: This means you can charge the Infinix HOT 50 Pro+ day in and day out for four years without experiencing significant degradation, retaining at least 80% of its battery capacity. Or at least, that’s the plan. It’s certainly a bold claim from Infinix, and we’re eager to see how it holds up in real-world use. If the claims prove accurate, the HOT 50 Pro+ could redefine expectations for battery health in the budget segment.
According to Infinix, the phone delivers up to 10.1 hours of TikTok streaming, 15.3 hours of WhatsApp chatting, or 7.5 hours of Mobile Legends gaming on a full charge. That’s enough juice to keep you entertained on even the longest flights or road trips.
The Helio G100 is surprisingly capable
Inside, Infinix went with MediaTek’s Helio G100 to power the HOT 50 Pro+. This budget-minded midrange chipset, announced in August 2024, aims to strike a balance between performance and efficiency. Built on TSMC’s 6nm process, it should, in theory, be relatively kind to the battery and sip power like a hummingbird.
The chip features an octa-core CPU with two Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.2 GHz for demanding tasks and six Cortex-A55 cores at 2.0 GHz for everyday use. Graphics are handled by a dual-core Mali-G57 GPU, which should be capable of running most games at respectable settings. We haven’t tested a Helio G100-powered phone before this, so we honestly didn’t know what to expect. Would it be a laggy mess? Would it chug along like traffic on EDSA during Metro Manila’s rush hour? Thankfully, MediaTek’s new silicon didn’t disappoint.
We put our unit through some preliminary gaming tests, and we were genuinely surprised by the results. Honkai: Star Rail, Wreckfest, and even the recently released Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm mobile game all ran at a decent clip. Honkai: Star Rail, in particular, stood out, averaging around 33 FPS in our tests with the graphics set to Medium. Ultimate Ninja Storm clocked in at a respectable 29 FPS at Medium graphics. Those are impressive numbers for a smartphone at this price point, especially considering how demanding those games are.
And, yes, Honor of Kings can hit 60 FPS on our device, even with the FPS preset cranked up to High and resolution set to Ultra. That’s not surprising, though. You might recall that Infinix announced a strategic partnership with Honor of Kings and MediaTek last August to create a game-research laboratory to boost mobile gaming performance in emerging markets. Looks like that collaboration is already bearing fruit.
In everyday use, the Infinix HOT 50 Pro+ felt responsive enough even with a bunch of apps running in the background. We’ll be putting it through more rigorous testing to see how it holds up over time, but so far, the Helio G100 seems like a solid choice for this device.
A curved AMOLED display that’s both beautiful and easy on the eyes
The Infinix HOT 50 Pro+ doesn’t just pack a punch in the performance department; it also delivers a visual experience that’s sure to impress. That 6.78-inch curved AMOLED display is a stunner, with vibrant colors that pop, full DCI-P3 color gamut coverage for accurate hues, and a 93.8% screen-to-body ratio that draws you right into the action.
More impressively, the panel is packed with features that prioritize your eye health — a welcome addition considering how many of us are constantly glued to our phones. The 120Hz refresh rate ensures smooth and responsive scrolling, while the TÜV Rheinland certification guarantees low blue-light emissions to minimize eye strain. If that wasn’t enough, Infinix even threw in 2,160Hz PWM dimming to further reduce eye fatigue. This tech helps eliminate the annoying flicker that some AMOLED panels exhibit, especially at lower brightness levels.
It’s rare to see this level of attention to eye comfort in this space. Most manufacturers focus on raw specs like resolution and brightness, but Infinix has gone the extra mile to ensure a pleasing viewing experience, on top of everything else. The always-on display is a nice touch, too. It lets you quickly glance at the time, date, and notifications without having to press the power/wake key. And the embedded fingerprint sensor is fast and reliable, making it a breeze to unlock your smartphone.
Infinix throws in some useful software tricks
Infinix knows that software can make or break the smartphone experience. Which is why the brand has loaded the HOT 50 Pro+ with a bunch of handy features and optimizations designed to enhance your daily grind. Need to conserve battery during a long Honkai: Star Rail session? Switch to Power Saving mode. Want to unleash the full power of the MediaTek Helio G100 in Honor of Kings? Crank it up to Performance mode. You can even enable gaming-centric features like floating app windows, one-button memory cleaning, and call rejection, so no one interrupts your winning streak.
Budding photographers, on the other hand, might appreciate the device’s AI-powered camera tricks. The AI Eraser tool lets you magically remove unwanted objects or photobombers from your pictures — say goodbye to random strangers ruining your perfect shot! And the AI Voice Capture feature lets you take photos hands-free using voice commands like “Cheese,” “Capture,” and “Shoot.”
Just don’t try it for selfies, unless you want a photo of yourself half-smiling, because the smartphone will instantly take the shot after the command. Trust us, we learned that the hard way. Let’s just say our “surprised Pikachu face” wasn’t our most flattering look.
Folax is Infinix’s homegrown AI voice assistant, similar to Samsung’s Bixby and Apple’s Siri. By default, it activates when you long-press the power/wake key. Folax isn’t just some gimmicky voice assistant that can tell you the weather or set an alarm — though it can do that, too. This AI has some serious chops. We’re talking about summarizing website articles in Chrome, composing emails to your boss, and even writing full-blown complaint letters. We asked Folax to write a complaint letter for a broken TV, and it whipped up something we would actually send to a store. It even knew to include a soft copy of the official receipt as an attachment to the email!
Now, Folax isn’t exactly Jarvis from Iron Man, but it’s certainly a handy tool to have around. It’s surprisingly intelligent and capable, and it can save you a lot of time and effort on those mundane tasks that we all dread. Plus, it’s just plain fun to use. We spent a good hour just asking Folax random questions and seeing what it would come up with. Spoiler alert: It has a pretty good sense of humor.
While these software additions might seem small, they add up to a more enjoyable and personalized user experience. It’s clear that Infinix has put some thought into how people actually use their units, and the company delivered some genuinely useful extras that go beyond the usual Android fare.

Bottom line: The Infinix HOT 50 Pro+ is looking a lot like a winner. Our initial impressions are overwhelmingly positive. It’s a sleek, stylish, and reasonably powerful contender that seems to defy its budget-friendly price tag. Infinix has clearly stepped up its game with this one, proving that you don’t have to spend serious cash to own a smartphone that looks and feels (to a certain degree) like a flagship.
From its jaw-dropping 6.8mm profile to its curved AMOLED display and surprisingly capable Helio G100 processor, Infinix’s latest offering is packed with hardware and software features that exceed expectations. If you’re on a spending limit but don’t want to compromise on features or performance, the HOT 50 Pro+ definitely deserves a closer look.
