Huawei didn’t release the Watch D in the Philippines, but this time around, the company is launching the wearable’s successor in the country.

The Huawei Watch D2, which we first saw and tried in China more than a month ago, will debut locally October 18 as the first smartwatch in the Philippines to offer Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring. ABPM provides continuous blood pressure readings, allowing you to track your BP throughout the day — quickly and easily at that, because you only need to place your hand on your chest to take your blood pressure.

The Watch D2 also supports scheduled reminders, which helps in establishing a consistent blood-pressure monitoring routine. The ABPM feature lets you customize the interval between blood-pressure readings, ranging from 15 to 60 minutes during waking and sleeping hours. By default, the device sets the interval to 30 minutes.

We welcome the upcoming launch of the Huawei Watch D2, because based on recent studies, 37% of Filipinos suffer from hypertension, but more than half of them are unaware of their condition and only 27% have their blood pressure under control.

Beyond BP monitoring

Thanks to the Huawei TruSense System, you get accurate and timely insights into your health and fitness. Track your heart rate, sleep quality, and stress levels to gain a comprehensive understanding of your overall health. You can even share your data with loved ones via the Huawei Health app.

With a mere tap, you can have a Health Glance report generated in as fast as 90 seconds. Just keep in mind that the Watch D2 is not a medical replacement; we still urge you to consult with a healthcare provider for official diagnoses and treatment recommendations.

The smartwatch likewise offers over 80 sport modes, a battery that can last up to six days, hands-free calling with Bluetooth, NFC-enabled door access, and compatibility with iOS and Android devices. The brand plans to further enhance the device’s functionality by introducing a smart e-wallet feature with GCash integration by the end of 2024.

It doesn’t hurt that the Huawei Watch D2 still looks neat, even though it’s packing a mini pump and an inflatable airbag.

Preorder details

We don’t know the price of the Huawei Watch D2 yet, but we’re aware that the black and gold color variants are coming soon to Huawei Experience Stores nationwide and online — on Shopee, Lazada, TikTok, and the Huawei Online Store.

On the latter, just make a P1,000 (around $18) deposit from October 7 to October 13, and enjoy a P2,000 ($35) discount when you pay the balance from the 14th to the 20th. You can also collect vouchers on Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok from October 5 to October 20 for an additional P1,000 ($18) off the smartwatch.
