HONOR finally lifted the curtain on the design and a major feature of its next flagship smartphone lineup.

Scheduled to launch on October 30 in China, the HONOR Magic7 Series was showcased at Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Summit 2024. It’s rocking four lenses, a look that doesn’t depart from that of the Magic6 line, and a color variant that’s inspired by 1902 French science-fiction adventure trick film A Trip to the Moon.

Expect raw power from the Magic7 Series, as it’s powered by the newly announced Snapdragon 8 Elite. The chipset packs a punch, thanks to an eight-core Oryon with two prime cores clocked at a blazing 4.32GHz and six performance cores operating at up to 3.53GHz.

But we think the real story here is HONOR’s ambitious push into artificial intelligence. The company is aiming to build an AI-first ecosystem, and the HONOR Magic7 Series is its first major step in that direction.

One of the most exciting features is the on-device AI Agent, a first for an open ecosystem. This intelligent assistant goes beyond basic commands, learning user habits and making personalized decisions. Imagine it ordering your usual takeout, remembering your coffee preferences, or even canceling unwanted subscriptions. It’s designed to streamline tasks like travel planning, ticket booking, and calendar management, ushering in an era of Autopilot AI.

HONOR is going all-in on AI

HONOR is also pushing the boundaries of AI in mobile gaming. The Magic7 Series will be the first to utilize on-device generative AI for real-time graphics rendering. This translates to smoother gameplay, improved visuals, and lower device temperatures, as the AI assists the graphics processor.

What’s more, the brand’s MagicRing technology enhances cross-device connectivity, allowing for seamless AI experiences across phones, tablets, and laptops. This should open up many possibilities for creative workflows and productivity.

With the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chip and the Android 15-based MagicOS 9.0, which will also go official on the 30th, the HONOR Magic7 Series is shaping up to be a premium lineup.

The Pro version seems especially worth waiting for, with leaked specs pointing to a 6.82-inch 2K OLED display boasting a 120Hz refresh rate and Kunlun Glass protection. The rear camera setup reportedly includes a 50-megapixel main sensor, a 50-megapixel ultrawide lens, and another that offers either 50 megapixels or 200 megapixels. A 5,800mAh battery with 100-watt wired and 66-watt wireless charging is expected to power the device. Durability is also a key focus, with rumors of an IP68 or even IP69 rating for dust and water resistance.
