Benchmarking platform Antutu has released its September 2024 rankings for the top-performing Android phones in China, categorized by flagship and sub-flagship tiers.
Curious about the specific models and chipsets that topped the most recent lists? Let’s break down each category.
Top 10 flagship smartphones
It wasn’t even close. The RedMagic 9S Pro Plus once again took the lead by a wide margin with its average monthly benchmark score of 2,142,552. The gaming smartphone pioneered the use of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset with boosted clock speeds and is still the only one on the list to be powered by the said processor.
All the other five Qualcomm-based devices in the top 10 rely on the regular Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The rest of those that made it to the list are handled by either the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 Plus or MediaTek Dimensity 9300 — led by Xiaomi’s Redmi K70 Ultra or Extreme Edition.
Top 10 sub-flagship smartphones
Just like in the premium space, the sub-flagship category in September was dominated once again by the same handset that ruled the charts in August. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 3-based OnePlus Ace 3V led the pack with 1,423,762 points, well ahead of second-placer realme GT Neo6 SE, which got a score of 1,363,933.
Six of the 10 phones here are powered by chips made by the American manufacturer, while four are built around Taiwan’s MediaTek. It’s interesting that the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3-based Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus, which was launched just last week, secured a spot in the top 10.
