Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 14 series in China on the day it unveiled the Xiaomi 14T series globally. The former boasts powerful processors, stunning displays, and long-lasting batteries. But it seems the international market might be getting a slightly different take on the Pro models.
The China lineup
The Chinese Redmi Note 14 series consists of three models: the Redmi Note 14 5G, Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G, and Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus 5G. All three smartphones flaunt a large 6.67-inch display, with the Pro and Pro Plus versions featuring curved AMOLED panels for a more premium look. The standard Note 14 gets a flat AMOLED screen but still maintains a smooth 120Hz refresh rate.
Under the hood, the series offers a range of processing power. The regular variant uses a 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 7025 Ultra chipset, while the Pro models steps up to a more powerful 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Ultra or a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 depending on the unit.
Battery life shouldn’t be a concern with any of these phones. The Redmi Note 14 5G packs a 5,110mAh battery, while the Pros boast even larger 5,500mAh (Pro) and 6,200mAh capacities (Pro Plus) — all supported by 45-watt fast charging, except the Pro Plus, which gets 90-watt charging.
Camera setups vary across the devices. The vanilla Note 14 opts for a dual-camera system on the back, while the Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G and Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus 5G are equipped with a triple-camera setup.

What the global Pro versions could be
A deep dive into the Xiaomi HyperOS codebase suggests the international Redmi Note 14 Pro series phones could see some changes in the camera department.
According to the leak, the global Redmi Note 14 Pro and Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus are equipped with a 200-megapixel Samsung Isocell HP3 sensor, known for its large 1/1.4-inch sensor size and high-resolution capabilities. This would be a substantial improvement over the 50-megapixel sensors found in the Chinese counterparts — a 50-megapixel OmniVision OVX8000 unit with a 1/1.55-inch sensor size and a 1.0-micron pixel size on the Pro Plus and a 50-megapixel Sony IMX882 one with a 1/1.96-inch sensor size and 0.8-micron pixel size on the regular Pro.

The secondary camera on both international models is likely to remain unchanged, featuring an 8-megapixel Sony IMX355 shooter with a 120-degree field of view. For the tertiary camera, Xiaomi might opt for a 2-megapixel macro module on the Pro Plus global edition instead of China’s 50-megapixel JN1 telephoto cam. The absence of an optical zoom lens may disappoint users who value zoomed-in shots.
Well, we’re probably still a few months away from the series’ debut outside of China since the international Redmi Note 13 lineup was introduced in January 2024. So just sit back, relax, and not think about this for now.
