(Update, September 4: Check out the vivo V40 5G’s launch date in the Philippines, as well as its leaked prices!)

We at Revü recently spotted a vivo store adorned with promotional materials for the V40 lineup (showing brand ambassador Anne Curtis-Smith), along with a pre-purchase period for it. Preorders for the vivo V40 5G will start September 17 and continue until the 27th. Early birds can secure the smartphone with a P2,000 (approximately $36) discount and a free pair of vivo TWS 3e earbuds.

The specific pricing for the Philippine market is still unknown, but the company’s Indian launch gives us a rough idea. The vivo V40 5G starts at ₹34,999 (P24,018 or $417) in the Southern Asian country, while the V40 Pro 5G is priced at ₹49,999 (P34,321 or $596). In the Philippines, the previous-generation vivo V30 Pro cost P34,999 ($621) at launch, while the regular V30 was retailed from P24,999 ($444).

While it’s unclear if the brand will also bring the vivo V40 Pro 5G here, it’s possible that vivo may introduce it alongside the regular model. Given the company’s recent history of launching flagship and premium midrange devices in the Philippines, the Pro version’s arrival is a strong possibility.

The vivo V40 series boasts a sleek design with curved edges and premium materials. Powered by either the MediaTek Dimensity 9200 Plus (V40 Pro 5G) or Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 (V40 5G), the devices offer impressive performance for a mid-tier smartphone.

One of the highlights here is the camera system, which was co-engineered with ZEISS. Both models feature 50-megapixel main sensors and additional ultrawide and telephoto lenses, providing versatility for various shooting scenarios. The front-facing 50-megapixel camera is also ideal for selfies, video calls, and vlogs.

The vivo V40 series features a large 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with HDR10+ support, ensuring vibrant visuals. It also packs a substantial 5,500mAh battery backup with support for fast charging up to 80 watts. You can find the two smartphones’ specs below.
