The good news is the Redmi Pad SE 8.7 is now available for preorder in the Philippines. The 64GB variant is priced at P6,999 (roughly $125), while the 128GB model goes for P7,999 ($143). Preorders made until September 4 will enjoy more discounts, bringing the starting price down to as low as P5,399 ($96).
Xiaomi is also offering a free cover with every purchase during the presale period. Available in Graphite Grey, Aurora Green, and Sky Blue colors, both configurations pack 4GB of physical RAM and don’t come with a SIM slot for LTE connectivity.

The Redmi Pad SE 8.7 boasts a sleek and lightweight design, measuring just 8.8mm thick and weighing in at 373 grams. Its 8.7-inch LCD display offers HD+ resolution and a smooth 90Hz refresh rate, making it ideal for browsing, streaming, and gaming. The panel even supports a peak brightness of 600 nits and a 1500:1 contrast ratio to ensure good visibility in various lighting conditions.
Powering the tablet is a 12nm MediaTek Helio G85 processor paired with 4GB of RAM. Obviously, it’s not the most powerful chipset on the market, but based on experience, it should be sufficient for everyday tasks and light gaming. The unit also packs a 6,650mAh battery pack that supports fast charging up to 18 watts, good enough for the battery to go from zero to full in about an hour and a half, according to Xiaomi.
For pictures, the Redmi Pad SE 8.7 has an 8-megapixel camera at the back and a 2-megapixel option for selfies and video calls. It also includes a 3.5mm headphone jack, a feature that’s becoming increasingly rare in modern devices.
