OPPO‘s latest midrange shooter, the OPPO Reno12 F 5G, is finally official in the Philippines. Joining the Reno12 5G and Reno12 Pro 5G, which dropped last month, the F model aims to sweeten the pot for budget-conscious camera enthusiasts.

AI-driven photography
The OPPO Reno12 F 5G features a triple-camera configuration on its rear panel. The primary sensor is a 50-megapixel unit with an f/1.8 aperture lens. Complementing this is an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens and a depth sensor. For selfies and video calls, a 32-megapixel front-facing camera with a wide f/2.4 aperture lens is integrated into a punch-hole cutout.
The camera system is primarily oriented towards portraiture and everyday photography. While the ultrawide lens performs adequately in various lighting conditions, including challenging outdoor scenarios where HDR has to kick in, the absence of a 2x zoom mode in Portrait mode is noticeable.
Nevertheless, this phone’s portrait capabilities are commendable for its price point, with accurate edge detection in complex scenes. The device also offers a range of AI-powered beautification features and preinstalled filters.

With the power of generative AI, AI Studio lets you transform yourself into a digital avatar, complete with a variety of templates and avatar styles.
The results generated by AI Studio are undeniably impressive. The quality surpasses similar apps, even those locked behind paywalls or subscription fees, positioning OPPO as a leader on this space. That said, we hope to see AI Studio expand to other OPPO devices, allowing more people to experience this creative magic. The only downside here is that generating images requires credits, which presents a potential barrier to heavy users.
