Redmi 13 scheduled to arrive in PH July 10

Less than a week after releasing the Redmi Pad Pro, Xiaomi Philippines has announced that it’s launching another Redmi product soon.

The Redmi 13 4G, which debuted a month ago, is finally set to arrive in local stores July 10. This entry-level smartphone is the successor to the well-received Redmi 12 4G, offering several key upgrades at an attractive price point.

The Redmi 13 packs the new MediaTek Helio G91 Ultra. The 4G chipset features an octa-core CPU with two high-performance Cortex-A75 cores and six Cortex-A55 cores for everyday tasks. Built on a 12nm process, the Helio G91 Ultra promises efficient power consumption.

The most significant upgrade is in the camera department. Ditching its predecessor’s 50-megapixel sensor, the Redmi 13 features a whopping 108-megapixel main shooter. This promises sharper photos and potentially better low-light performance, a welcome improvement for budget phones. The punch-hole selfie camera also gets a bump to 13 megapixels and the MIUI software replaced with HyperOS custom interface based on Android 14.

Familiar favorites remain. The Redmi 13 retains many popular features from the Redmi 12. You get a familiar 6.79-inch IPS LCD screen with FHD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. And the side-mounted fingerprint scanner, IP53 water resistance, and 5,030mAh battery with 33-watt fast charging are all carried over.

In Europe where gadgets are more expensive, the Redmi 13 is priced from €179.99 (P11,419 or $195). Let’s see how much it is going to cost in the Philippines come July 10th. Do come back here on that date for our full review of the device.
