Just when you thought the OPPO Reno12 family was complete, the company throws a curveball. Following the rollout of the Reno12 5G and Reno12 Pro 5G in select markets, including the Philippines, OPPO has unveiled a surprise addition: the OPPO Reno12 F 4G.
Take note that this smartphone is different from the MediaTek Dimensity 6300-based Reno12 F 5G, which launched last month. Pricing and availability are still under wraps by OPPO, but we’ll keep an eye out and update you as soon as that information surfaces.
Whether or not the company will also release the latest Reno12 F models in the Philippines remains to be seen, but we’re optimistic given the history with past Reno models. Last March, OPPO brought the Reno11 F 5G to the Philippines with a suggested retail price of P18,999 (around $326) for the 8GB/256GB variant.

The new version isn’t a simple rehash of the existing models, though. The OPPO Reno12 F 4G ditches the Dimensity chipset of its 5G sibling for a less powerful, entry-grade Qualcomm SoC, the Snapdragon 685. The processor is paired with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 2.2 storage, expandable via a microSD card.
Software duties are handled by the latest ColorOS 14.0.1 built on Android 14, ensuring you get all the AI-powered bells and whistles OPPO is known for. Think AI Eraser, AI Studio, and the suite of connectivity features headlined by AI LinkBoost and BeaconLink.
The overall design stays true to the Reno12 F 5G aesthetic, with a large 6.67-inch FHD+ display dominating the front. This time, however, it’s an LCD panel instead of AMOLED, likely a concession for the 4G focus. The 120Hz refresh rate remains, offering a smooth user experience. The punch-hole cutout houses a respectable 32-megapixel selfie shooter for all your video conferencing needs.
Flip the phone over, and you’ll find a familiar sight — the big, circular camera bump reminiscent of the OPPO Find N3. Inside this bump lies a triple-camera setup featuring a 50-megapixel main sensor, an 8-megapixel ultrawide, and a 2-megapixel macro option. On paper, this looks like a decent combo for everyday use.
Visually, the OPPO Reno12 F 4G is pretty much identical to its 5G sibling, except it comes in a new Matte Grey color, joining the Olive Green and Amber Orange colorways. According to the brand, the latter is inspired by the 2024 Pantone color of the year — Peach Fuzz — featuring a stylish pink and orange gradient at the back.
Packing a hefty 5,000mAh battery with 45-watt fast charging, the Reno12 F 4G should keep you going throughout the day. Throw in an IP64 dust and water resistance rating and a special high-sensitivity display mode for wet-handed use, and you’ve got a smartphone that’s built to last.
