So we will not see any Huawei nova 13 phones… yet.
(Update, August 7: The Huawei nova Flip is here!)
(Update, July 30: Huawei has revealed the launch date of the nova Flip!)
According to Digital Chat Station and Rodent950, two of the more reliable tipsters in the industry, the launch of the nova 13 lineup has been postponed. Instead, what we will see first is a clamshell type of Huawei nova-branded foldable smartphone. The unveiling is supposedly scheduled for August.
This should be welcome news for Huawei fans, since some of the features of the top-of-the-line Mate and P series models always get trickled down to the more affordable youth-focused nova devices. Which likely means that the said nova flip phone boasts flagship-grade features at a lower price. In fact, it will allegedly debut as Huawei’s cheapest foldable device, giving more consumers access to folding handsets. Previous rumors claim it will cost between ¥4,000 (roughly $550 or P32,126 or $550) and ¥5,000 (P40,158 or $687).

We’re actually more interested in the ‘Huawei nova Flip’
Apparently, the Huawei nova flip unit is equipped with a Kirin 9010E processor, which the technology giant introduced in one of the Pura 70 smartphones. Expect the foldable to pack a larger outer screen than the ones on the Huawei Pocket 2 models as well.
If there is indeed a soon-to-be-released nova flip product, will Huawei bring it to markets outside China, including the Philippines? We’re eager to learn more.
