Huawei‘s got some serious back-to-school firepower headed for the Philippine market with the local launch of the refreshed Huawei MateBook X Pro and MateBook 14.

The MateBook X Pro gets a suggested retail price of P129,999 (around $2,220), while the MateBook 14 is priced at P69,999 ($1,195) and P59,999 ($1,025) for the Core Ultra 7 and Core Ultra 5 versions, respectively.

For a limited time, purchasing the new MateBook X Pro will get you a free Huawei Vision S smart TV worth P45,999 ($786), in addition to a Huawei mouse and a backpack. The 2024 edition of the MateBook 14, on the other hand, comes bundled with a MateView SE monitor valued at P7,999 ($137), a Logitech mouse, and a backpack.

Huawei MateBook X Pro

The big announcement here is undoubtedly the new MateBook X Pro. Ditching the incremental upgrades of the past, this year’s model boasts a full-on performance leap. The star attraction is the rarely-seen-in-thin-and-light laptops Intel Core Ultra 9 processor with an H suffix. This translates to desktop-grade power in an ultraportable chassis, further boosted by a whopping 32GB of RAM and 2TB of storage in the maxed-out configuration.

Huawei MateBook 14

The 2024 MateBook 14 isn’t a revolutionary leap, but it’s a solid upgrade over its 2023 predecessor. The biggest improvements come in the display department, with a jump from a 300-nit IPS LCD to a sharper, brighter 450-nit OLED panel. Raw performance gets a bump, too, with the move to a more powerful Core Ultra 7 155H CPU.

Battery life also sees a significant improvement, with a larger 70Wh battery replacing the previous model’s 56Wh unit. Oh, and it’s the first MateBook to support a stylus, making it a more versatile option for artists and note-takers. Another highlight here is the stunning 14.2-inch 2.8K OLED display with a familiar 3:2 aspect ratio, excellent color accuracy, and impressive peak brightness.
