The latest smartphone performance rankings from Antutu for June 2024 offer insights into the ongoing battle between Qualcomm and MediaTek in the mobile-chipset market.
It’s crucial to remember these are average scores — not the pinnacle of what each device can achieve. Additionally, the rankings focus solely on global models, excluding phones restricted to the Chinese market.
So which ones got into the rankings for each group? Let’s examine each category.
Top 10 flagship smartphones
No surprises here! As anticipated, the flagship category last month was dominated by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The ASUS ROG Phone 8 Pro emerged victorious with a stellar average monthly score of 2,113,236. Three other Snapdragon-powered devices — the RedMagic 9 Pro, iQOO 12, and vivo X100 Ultra — occupied the following positions, solidifying Qualcomm’s grip on the premium segment.
MediaTek, however, managed to secure a presence in the top five with the vivo X100 Pro, leveraging the Dimensity 9300 SoC. Notably, the vivo X100 and iQOO Neo9S Pro were the only other MediaTek representatives in the flagship arena.
It’s important to consider the impending global launch of the RedMagic 9S Pro on July 16. This device boasts an overclocked Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, potentially disrupting the current standings in the near future.
Top 10 sub-flagship smartphones
The sub-flagship category presented a more balanced picture. Here, both MediaTek and Qualcomm chipsets carved up the top 10 positions evenly.
The realme GT 6T reigned supreme with an average score of 1,337,357, championing the Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 3 with its powerful Cortex-X4 CPU core. Other Qualcomm contenders included the Redmi Note 12 Turbo, POCO F5, iQOO Z9 5G, and vivo V30, which placed second, third, ninth, and 10th, respectively.
Those that use Mediatek’s mobile platform, on the other hand, either have the Dimensity 8200 (iQOO Neo7, Infinix GT 20 Pro, and TECNO CAMON 30 Pro 5G) or Dimensity 8100 (POCO X4 GT and Redmi K50i).
