realme Buds T110 review: These budget buds might surprise you

The budget true wireless earbud market is a crowded space, filled with options promising decent sound at a low price. The recently announced realme Buds T110 enter this segment, and while they might seem like another standard contender, they manage to surprise.

Officially priced at P1,399 (roughly $24) in the Philippines, these wireless buds boast thoughtful features, a focus on user experience, and surprisingly good sound quality — all for a price tag that won’t break the bank. Read our review of the realme Buds T110 to find out if they can truly punch above their weight.

Built to last

The first impression is positive. The charging case, available in a glossy two-tone finish or a matte contrasting color scheme, feels sturdy and well-made. Despite the plastic construction, it feels surprisingly durable and light, and it slides easily into our jeans’ pockets. The lid snaps shut securely, while strong magnets keep the buds in place, not letting them fall out of the case accidentally. All told, it’s a solid case made by realme, both in terms of build quality and design.

The earbuds themselves are feather-light at just 4 grams each, making them comfortable for extended wear. The glossy finish on the green variant we tested matches the case, while other color options offer a contrasting dual-texture design. Fit, of course, is subjective, but the included silicone ear tips in multiple sizes — small, medium, and large — should help most users achieve a secure and comfortable fit.

An IPX5 water-resistance rating, meanwhile, brings sweat and splash resistance, making the realme Buds T110 ideal for workouts and use in tropical countries like the Philippines.

Features and sound quality: More than meets the eye

We’ll be straight with you: The realme Buds T110 target a familiar niche — affordable true wireless earbuds for budget-conscious users, which is also realme’s go-to demographic. At a glance, they seem to follow the well-worn path of many budget options, but a closer look reveals some surprising features and a focus on user experience that elevates them above the competition.

The realme Buds T110 offer the usual touch controls for playback, pausing, and taking calls. However, the realme Link app elevates the experience by allowing customization of the double- and triple-tap gestures for volume control. This is a welcome feature if you want more granular control over your music or podcast without reaching for your smartphone. The touch controls are quite accurate and intuitive.

While the feature set here might seem modest on paper, what’s there is well-implemented. Gamers on a budget will appreciate the realme’s Low-latency mode, which reduces lag to a claimed 88ms. Unfortunately, this mode is limited to Android devices and results in faster battery drain. In our testing, the difference was noticeable, making the Low-latency mode a worthwhile option despite the tradeoff in battery life.

The AI-powered noise cancellation or ENC focuses on improving microphone performance during calls by filtering out background noise. It’s not the same as active noise cancellation or ANC, but for the price, it’s a valuable addition. Call quality was clear in our testing, aided by the silicone ear tips that provide passive noise isolation and the built-in HD microphones. There’s even a Volume Boost mode that increases mic volume to 102dB, ensuring your voice is heard clearly in noisy environments.

The realme Buds T110 pack a surprising sonic punch, thanks to their 10mm drivers and composite diaphragms. The included EQ presets cater to different listening preferences. Bright is suitable for crisp vocals, making it a great choice for podcasts; Balanced is suited for a neutral sound profile, ideal for most music genres; and Bass Boost caters to bass-heavy tracks. Bass lovers will obviously find themselves leaning more towards the latter, while others might find it overpowering.

Battery backup keeps up

The realme Buds T110 boast an impressive 38 hours of total playback time with the charging case, with each bud offering around seven hours of individual use. This translates to over five hours of daily listening before needing a recharge — ideal for long commutes or extended trips. The case uses a USB-C port for charging, with a fast-charging feature that delivers 120 minutes of playback time after a quick 10-minute charge.

Final thoughts

The realme Buds T110 deliver solid performance, thoughtful features, and excellent value for money. They might not boast the most high-end features or materials, but they excel where it counts at this price point– comfort, sound quality, and battery life. Additionally, the realme Link app for customization and the IPX5 water resistance are unexpected bonuses in the budget category.

Priced at P1,399 ($24) in the Philippines, we think the realme Buds T110 hit a sweet spot for budget-minded users who prioritize value and performance.
