This just in: Antutu has revealed the May 2024 best-performing flagship and sub-flagship Android phones released in China.
So which models got into the rankings for each group? Which chipsets power them? For those who follow Antutu benchmark scores, let’s examine each category.
Top 10 flagship smartphones
Unlike in the past, it was neck and neck between Mediatek and Qualcomm in this space. The MediaTek Dimensity 9300 Plus-based vivo X100s topped the premium category with an average monthly score of 2,105,621. Two other devices — the iQOO Neo 9s Pro and vivo X100s Pro — are equipped with the said 5G processor from the Taiwanese chip manufacturer.
Recall that the Dimensity 9300 Plus was launched last month to rival Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. It’s built on TSMC’s third-generation 4nm process and features one Arm Cortex-X4 core clocked at up to 3.4GHz and three Cortex-X4 performance cores and four Cortex-A720 cores for lightweight tasks. It integrates a second-generation hardware-based ray-tracing engine with its Immortalis-G720 GPU.
The other two Mediatek-powered units — the OPPO Find X7 and vivo X100 Pro — use the non-Plus version of the 9300, which was announced in November 2023.
All the other five phones on the list rely on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
Top 10 sub-flagship smartphones
Similar to the flagship category, five handsets were based on a Mediatek chipset, and the other five, on a Qualcomm one.
At No. 1 was the OnePlus Ace 3V, which achieved an average monthly benchmark score of 1,437,896. It debuted the Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 3, the chip that joined the ranks of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 by incorporating the Cortex-X4 CPU core.
The realme GT Neo6 SE, realme GT Neo6 SE, Redmi Note 12 Turbo, and OPPO K12 placed second, fourth, fifth, and ninth places, respectively, to complete the Qualcomm-powered lineup that got into the top 10.
Those that use Mediatek’s mobile platform, on the other hand, either have the Dimensity 8300-Ultra Redmi K70E), Dimensity 8200 (OPPO Reno11 5Gm, iQOO Z8, and iQOO Neo7 SE), or Dimensity 8200-Ultra (Xiaomi Redmi Note 12T Pro).
