We finally have more information on the global comeback of realme‘s GT series. And it’s something good for those who have been waiting for its return to the local market.

(Update: We now know when the realme GT 6 is launching globally and in the Philippines!)

The brand has confirmed that the realme GT 6 will be launched in the Philippines, as well as in countries like India, Indonesia, Spain, Thailand, Malaysia, Mexico, Brazil, Poland, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Italy, where the international announcement is rumored to take place. Recall that the realme GT Neo 3 was the last GT series phone that landed in the Philippines, released in 2022.

In an interview with Forbes, realme founder and CEO Sky Li revealed that the GT lineup’s global comeback is fueled by widespread demand among realme users outside China.

“We could not let this expectation go unmet. This year, we felt it was time. With several years of growth behind us, we now have the confidence to bring our AI smartphones to more young people as soon as possible,” Li shared with Forbes. “[We aim] to make AI technology accessible to everyone.”

The realme GT 6 is positioned as a true “new flagship killer” in the AI era.

“AI is becoming the next hotly contested spot. Among these, AI imaging, voice, and interaction will be the three major trends in the future development of AI,” Li said. “Our goal is to really integrate AI into everyone’s daily life.”

While the company hasn’t revealed the realme GT 6’s specs yet, word has it that the smartphone is based on the China-exclusive realme GT Neo6. The device debuted with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 5G processor paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage; a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with 6,000-nit peak brightness; and a 5,500mAh battery that supports up to 120 watts of SUPERVOOC fast charging — all for a starting price of roughly $290 (P16,977).
