Alongside its latest “flagship killers,” the newly launched POCO F6 and POCO F6 Pro, POCO introduced its first tablet to the global market.

(Update: Our POCO Pad review is up!)

The POCO Pad is a full-size, entertainment-focused tablet with an aggressive price tag that won’t empty your wallet. The device is officially priced at P15,999 (roughly $275) in the Philippines for 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, but you can get it for as low as P12,999 ($223) after discounts on Shopee. POCO says the Pad will be available exclusively on the platform until May 30, 2024.

Like the base variant of the POCO F6, which we recommend you check out if you’re after a high-performance phone with a relatively affordable price, the discounted POCO Pad is one heck of a deal given its specs and features.

The major attraction is, of course, the generous 12.1-inch 2.5K display with a wide 16:10 aspect ratio and a 120Hz refresh rate. That’s a winning combination for gaming as well as streaming content, compared to other tablets with a tall screen like the Apple iPad and iPad Air. Complementing the display is a quad-speaker setup with Dolby Atmos tuning for a richer sound stage and more immersive audio experiences.

Naturally, the POCO Pad is also built for getting some serious work done. The tablet is powered by Qualcomm’s 4nm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor, a reliable chip that should offer smooth performance for everyday tasks and multitasking. It comes in a sleek metal unibody, available in Gray and Blue, and packs a large 10,000mAh battery that supports fast wired charging up to 33 watts.

The POCO Pad also runs a custom tablet-friendly build of Xiaomi‘s HyperOS out of the box, which boasts a suite of interconnectivity features designed to streamline workflow between your phone and tablet. Home Screen Plus, for example, takes advantage of Bluetooth and Wi-Fi to allow you to drag and drop files, like a document or an image, on the POCO Pad effortlessly.

But it doesn’t stop there. Cross-device collaboration allows for seamless copy and pasting across compatible devices. This eliminates the need for clunky workarounds like emailing yourself notes or documents. Finally, Xiaomi Smart Hub integration lets you control up to seven smart devices directly from your POCO Pad, turning it into a central hub for your smart home ecosystem.

Looking to turn your POCO Pad into a productivity powerhouse? POCO offers a few accessories to enhance your experience. The POCO Pad Keyboard promises a PC-level typing experience, while the POCO Smart Pen lets you quickly jot down notes, write on documents, and even edit screenshots. The pen’s multi-function button adds another layer of convenience, allowing you to quickly capture screenshots or jump into creative projects with the preloaded Mi Canvas App.
