OPPO has a new budget smartphone that’s due to launch in the Philippines on May 30, although its local price hasn’t been announced yet.

(Update, May 30: We now know how much the OPPO A60 is!)

The company’s latest offering, the OPPO A60, isn’t afraid of a little wear and tear. Sporting a military-grade shock resistance certification (MIL-STD-810H, for those keeping score), the A60 is built to withstand everyday bumps and drops, and has passed rigorous testing, which includes multi-angle drop tests, high-intensity impact tests, and other durability tests.

OPPO says the phone can survive tumbles from up to 1.22 meters, so it should easily shrug off bumps on rough surfaces as well as accidental knocks off your desk. That said, the A60 promises peace of mind without breaking the bank, so you can ditch bulky phone cases.

But this unit isn’t just about surviving drops; it’s built to handle the elements, too. Thanks to its IP54 rating, there’s no need to panic if you get caught in a light drizzle or spill your drink.

The OPPO A60 even goes a step further with its Splash Touch feature, which keeps the display responsive even when your fingers are wet, perfect for rainy days and pool parties. The device’s impressive 950-nit peak brightness adds another layer of convenience, ensuring clear visibility outdoors or in bright environments.

Other notable specs include a 50-megapixel main camera and a large 5,000mAh battery that supports the company’s 45-watt SUPERVOOC standard. The handset is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 4G chipset and packs a 6.67-inch HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate. It will be available in Ripple Blue and Midnight Purple colors when it hits stores.
