You won’t have to wait that long to get to know more about the first offering under Redmi’s newest series.
(Update, April 11: The Redmi Turbo 3 has been launched!)
The Xiaomi sub-brand has confirmed that the Redmi Turbo 3, which is rumored to be released globally as the POCO F6, will be launched April 10 in China. Even better, it has also revealed the smartphone’s chipset and design.
According to Redmi, the Turbo 3 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. Recall that the first device to debut the 5G processor is also from Xiaomi, the Civi 4 Pro. The chip brings the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3’s advanced AI capabilities and other key features to a wider range of more affordable phones. On the Redmi Turbo 3, it’s shown to obtain a 1,754,299 benchmark score on Antutu. The current king of sub-flagships in China is the OnePlus Ace 3V with 1,466,728 points.
The handset likewise gets a 1.5K display, Ice Cooling for optimal performance, and configurations with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.
A recently posted teaser image, on the other hand, shows the Redmi Turbo 3 in gold, green, and black color variants. It’s flat, has slightly curved edges, and looks minimalistic with a flat LED flash and two protruding camera sensors on the back. On the right are the volume and power keys, and at the top are the speaker, IR blaster, and microphone.
Leaked benchmarks reveal the Turbo 3 achieved 1,981 and 5,526 points in Geekbench’s single-core and multi-core tests. It’s also expected to come with a 5,000mAh battery with support for 90-watt fast charging and a 1.5K OLED display. Hopefully, the unit will make its way to the Philippines.
