We at Revü Philippines saw several interesting Nubia devices at ZTE’s booth at MWC [Mobile World Congress] 2024, and one of them was the Nubia Flip 5G.
This week, that same foldable phone that was showcased in in Barcelona, Spain, has finally launched not just in the brand’s native China but globally as well. In fact, you can already purchase it on Nubia’s global store, with the earliest dispatch scheduled for April 23. The version with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage is priced at $499 (roughly P28,070). The 12GB/512GB unit, on the other hand, costs $699 (P39,309).
Playing with the Nubia Flip 5G at MWC 2024
The Flip 5G is Nubia’s first foldable, and it’s targeted at the younger generation. The brand says the exterior is inspired by the vinyl record to add a touch of retro vibes to the device’s modern design. We especially like the Flowing Lilac variant, which you can see in the video above.
The inner 2,790 x 1,188 AMOLED display is expansive at 6.9 inches, has a 95.4% screen-to-body ratio and a 120Hz refresh rate, and accommodates a 16-megapixel sensor. The circular cover display is 1.43 inches and transforms into a camera viewfinder with the 50-megapixel dual camera housed in it, a call-answer or call-reject tool, and a music controller and gives quick access to essential information.
This Flip likewise features a 4,310mAh battery with support for 33-watt fast charging, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, an Android 13-based user interface, and a 4nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset. Its dual-rail suspended hinge is said to battle-tested for more than 200,000 folds.
