Ahead of Xiaomi‘s MWC 2024 keynote, where it is expected to unveil several new products, including its latest flagship, the technology brand has launched an entry-level Redmi handset that curiously looks a bit like the upcoming Xiaomi 14 Ultra based on the unit’s alleged renders.
(Update, April 16: The Redmi A3 has arrived in the Philippines!)
The Redmi A3 is now official. And we’d argue that it’s one of the best-looking budget phones the company has ever built, sporting a leather-like finish and an unexpectedly large circular camera module at the back, just like Xiaomi’s next top-of-the-line model, provided the leaks are accurate. In India, the Redmi A3 will be available from February 23 in three colors — Olive Green, Midnight Black, and Lake Blue.
It has three configurations as well, with the base 3GB/64GB variant priced at ₹7,299 (around P4,916 or $88), while the 4GB/128GB and 6GB/128GB will go on sale for ₹8,299 (P5,590 or $100) and ₹9,299 (P6,263 or $112), respectively. For comparison, consider the Redmi A2 Plus, which launched in the Philippines last year with a starting price of P4,599 ($82) for the variant with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.
Introducing the stylish #RedmiA3, that has features that enable a better everyday smartphone experience.🤩

Redmi A3 pricing and key specs
A MediaTek Helio G36 chip powers the Redmi A3, just like the Redmi A2 and A2 Plus before it, and it also comes with a 5,000mAh battery that supports 10-watt wired charging. The display measures 6.71 inches across and has a 90Hz refresh rate, to go along with HD+ resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on top.
For pictures, you get an 8-megapixel camera alongside an AI sensor on the rear and a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter in a waterdrop cutout. Interestingly, the Redmi A3 runs MIUI-based Android 14 out of the box, beating other Xiaomi devices with much higher price tags to the latest commercial build of Android.
