The Huawei Watch 4 is now official in the Philippines, following its global debut last year. Locally, the successor to the Watch 3 will go on sale alongside the nova Y72 and MatePad 11.5″ PaperMatte Edition.
The Huawei Watch 4 comes with a suggested retail price of P22,999 (around $412 converted) for the lone black variant with a silicone strap and will be available starting February 23. Customers who preorder the smartwatch will receive a free Sound Joy Bluetooth speaker worth P6,999 ($125). This offer is valid until March 31, 2024, only, so you might want to act fast if you’re in the market for an eSIM-enabled smartwatch that’s compatible with both Android and iOS devices.
Just like the Huawei Watch GT 4 we featured in a video last year, the Huawei Watch 4 arrives with a 14-day battery life and a comprehensive set of health-monitoring features, including ECG analysis and PPG arrhythmia analysis that can help screen potential heart risks. There’s an eight-channel optical heart-rate sensor featuring Huawei‘s TruSeen 5.0+ heart-rate monitoring tech, alongside TruSleep 3.0 that monitors your sleep quality and gives recommendations.
Philippine pricing and preorder freebie announced
Huawei says the Watch 4 is the only smartwatch on the market equipped with a high-performance ECG sensor module, which keeps track of cardiac rhythm, atrial fibrillation, and premature atrial contractions. It also offers arterial-stiffness detection, enabling pro-level screening for arteriosclerosis, or the gradual stiffening and thickening of blood vessels that can lead to the restricted flow of blood to the heart and other organs.
The Watch 4 is likewise the first to introduce the company’s own Respiratory Spectrum Analysis algorithm, which will allow users to monitor their respiratory health based on their cough patterns and look out for early signs of lung impairment. And with the One-Click Health Glance function, users can get easy-to-understand health reports measuring seven different health indicators at the same time.
Notably, the device, just like its predecessors, comes with an upgraded eSIM functionality for independent calls and messaging — no need to be tethered to your phone all the time! As for standalone apps, the Huawei Watch 4 supports Spotify, Strava, WISH FM, Adidas Running, and GCash, with support for QR payments already promised in a future update.
