At least six smartphones are slated to get Xiaomi‘s new HyperOS operating system later this month, joining the ranks of the Xiaomi 14 series as well as the Xiaomi 13, Xiaomi 13 Pro, Xiaomi 13 Ultra, and Xiaomi 13T Pro, which launched with or received the software update last year.
The first public build of HyperOS is based on Android 14, so the OTA [over the air] update should upgrade the software to Android 14 as well, along with the latest Android security patches. It was previously reported that more than 117 Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO phones and tablets will receive the HyperOS upgrade in the future, with flagships getting priority over midrange and entry-level models.
So, which models in particular will get HyperOS soon, you ask? Well, according to Xiaomi community site Xiaomiui, the following devices are next in line to get the update:
- Xiaomi 12 (code name: Cupid)
- Xiaomi 12 Pro (Zeus)
- Xiaomi 12T Pro (Diting)
- Redmi Note 12 5G (Sunstone)
- Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G (Ruby)
- POCO F4 GT (Ingres)
No less than the company’s update server have confirmed the Xiaomi HyperOS builds that are set to roll out to the aforementioned smartphones. With the exception of the Redmi Note 12 5G and Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G, all models included on the list were launched in late 2022 in the Philippines. The Redmi handsets, on the other hand, debuted in the middle of last year at local retail.
To check if a software update is available on your device, simply launch the Settings app, tap About Phone, and select System Update or the MIUI tab on the upper-left side of the About Phone page.
