Kicking off the new year with a bang, Infinix Mobility has officially launched the Infinix HOT 40 Series Free Fire Limited Edition in the Philippines, available exclusively on Shopee. This falls in line with the company’s previous marketing efforts involving smartphone tie-ins with popular mobile-game IPs.
The lineup comprises the regular Infinix HOT 40 and Infinix HOT 40 Pro and were developed in collaboration with Free Fire, a battle-royale game for Android and iOS devices. As of 2023, the game’s active player base has surpassed 187 million users. The Free Fire-themed versions of the HOT 40 and HOT 40 Pro ship with exclusive wallpapers, widgets, sound effects, and an AR self-portrait mode for a unique user experience.
Free Fire fans will also be treated to game-branded souvenirs, such as a Warrior lanyard, Winterlands cooling fan, and Mr. Waggor SIM-eject tool. Locally, the Infinix HOT 40 carries a suggested retail price of P6,499 (around $117 converted) for 8GB of physical RAM and 256GB of native storage, while the Infinix HOT 40 Pro costs P7,499 ($135) and also comes with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. Specs-wise, they’re no different from the HOT 40 and HOT 40 Pro that hit local stores last December.
