Lenovo Philippines has finally announced the pricing and release details of its first foray into the gaming-handheld scene.
According to the company, the Lenovo Legion Go version with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage will go on sale in the country for P49,995 (roughly $892) — or P6,000 ($107) more than the price of the ASUS ROG Ally variant with the same specs.
Preorder the device from November 15 to December 15 at Legion Exclusive Stores, Lenovo Exclusive Stores, and authorized resellers nationwide, and you’ll get the following freebies on top of the standard two-year onsite warranty:
- Legion H200 gaming headset
- Legion Go carry case
- Legion Go tempered glass
The Lenovo Legion Go was announced at the IFA 2023 event in Berlin, Germany, in September to bring the power and versatility of Microsoft’s Windows 11 platform to a mobile form factor. It’s powered by an AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor and sports a bigger, sharper, and faster screen than the ASUS ROG Ally and Steam Deck, what with its 8.8-inch, 2,560 x 1,600 IPS display with a 144Hz refresh rate.
Notice that it has a Switch-esque design to give you the option to completely detach the controllers for casual multiplayer games, just like on Nintendo’s portable console. We like that there’s a built-in kickstand here, in addition to a trackpad, a scroll wheel, and plenty of rear paddle buttons for more control.
You should be able to play longer on a single charge, because the Legion Go is equipped with a bigger, 49Wh battery than the Steam Deck and ROG Ally. It’s just that for now, you’ll get more software support if you’re a user of the latter two gaming handhelds.
