Netflix subscribers, rejoice: The Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy — The Definitive Edition is coming to Netflix Games soon. That means everyone with an active Netflix subscription will be able to play the trio of Grand Theft Auto games for free.
The remastered editions of Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas will be available to download beginning December 14 for Netflix subscribers on the App Store and Google Play and in the Netflix mobile app. If you’re not a Netflix subscriber, you can also purchase the game collection for $11.99 (around P664 converted) on Apple’s App Store.
We think the timing of the announcement isn’t a coincidence, as the trailer for the next installment of Rockstar Games’ highly popular GTA franchise and the sequel to Grand Theft Auto V is set to debut sometime next month. A Bloomberg article from July 2022 shed some light about Grand Theft Auto VI. According to the report, GTA 6 will be set in a fictional version of Miami and its surrounding areas and will have a playable female protagonist — a first for the series.

Big news indeed!
Released back in November 2021 on consoles and PC, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy — The Definitive Edition introduced new lighting and environmental upgrades, along with high-res textures, increased draw distances, and Grand Theft Auto V-style controls and targeting.
The Definitive Edition of the trilogy is likely bringing these features to mobile devices as well, but better graphics will also come at the cost of higher power consumption and the need for a more powerful chipset. Based on what we’ve seen in GTA: San Andreas for Android, players will probably have a number of graphics options to choose from, including the ability to adjust the resolution, draw distance, car reflections, visual effects, and shadows.
Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy — The Definitive Edition adds to a growing catalog of more than 80 mobile games, with must-play titles across a wide variety of genres, adding further value to Netflix memberships. Earlier this month, Netflix announced that Hades, the highly popular rogue-like dungeon crawler from Supergiant Games, will be coming to iOS devices in 2024.
