Looking for budget-friendly options to light up your smart home? You may want to check what smart lighting company WiZ has on offer in the Philippines, where the brand has recently tapped celebrity and Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach-Jauncey as its local ambassador.
The WiZ Smart WiFi LED Light Strip Starter Kit, for example, is priced at P2,795 (around $49 converted), while tunable white and RGB bulbs cost P895 ($16) and P1,295 ($23), respectively. WiZ’s portable Hero Smart Lamp retails at P2,790 ($49) locally.
If you’re not familiar, WiZ has plenty of smart home products (mostly lighting) under its portfolio, and it’s owned by Signify, the same company that operates Philips Hue. The difference between Philips Hue and WiZ is that the latter doesn’t sell hubs — at least, not yet — and, perhaps more importantly, its lights and portable lamps are generally much more affordable than their Hue counterparts.

Think the current dynamics between Xiaomi and its POCO and Redmi subrands. Don’t let its more aggressive pricing fool you, though, as WiZ’s smart lighting products are also WiFi-powered and can easily be integrated into smart homes driven by AI voice assistants Alexa and Google Assistant.
Plus, the WiZ Connected app can be installed on Android and iOS devices. Back in April this year, the company updated its range of smart bulbs and lamps to work with Matter, even beating Hue to the punch. This is big news since Matter is the common standard for smart home devices and integrates with Amazon Alexa, Google Home, Apple Home, and Samsung SmartThings.
For your peace of mind, WiZ also offers a two-year warranty on bulbs and other lighting products in the Philippines. You can purchase them online through the WiZ official stores on Lazada and Shopee, as well as offline in home-improvement stores nationwide.
