Roll out the blue carpet for the newest member of the vivo V series.
The vivo V29 Pro 5G is finally official, getting its debut in India with a ₹39,999 (roughly P27,241 or $481) suggested retail price for the 8GB/256GB model and a ₹42,999 (P29,285 or $517) SRP for the 12GB/256GB version. Recall that the smartphone was first spotted on vivo Philippines’ site in May. Unfortunately, only the vivo V29 5G and vivo V29e 5G are available in the Philippines as of today.
The Pro variant is still all about portraits. It replaces the macro rear camera of the regular V29 with a 12-megapixel 2x portrait lens that can give it an ideal shooting distance of 0.5 meters to 2 meters — the first ever in a v series phone. It’s paired with a Sony IMX663 sensor.
vivo has been great when it comes to selfies, and this should be no exception as well, at least on paper. The vivo V29 Pro 5G’s 50-megapixel front shooter comes with a 92-degree lens with eye autofocus and f/2.0 aperture. And with the Smart Aura Light flash equipped with changing-color temperatures, night portraits should even be better.
Just like the vanilla V29 model, the Pro features a 6.78-inch, 120Hz curved AMOLED screen that’s just 7.46mm thin to give you that comfortable grip. It also packs a 4,600mAh battery with support for 80-watt fast charging and user interface based on Android 13. Unlike its more affordable variant, though, the vivo V29 Pro 5G is powered by a 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 8200 chipset.
