The realme Pad 2 is now official in the Philippines, following its global launch last July.
(Update, November 5: Our realme Pad 2 review is up!)
Locally, the tablet has two variants — one with 6GB of physical RAM and 128GB of internal storage and another with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. Both models come with virtual RAM expansion, allowing the baseline variant to run with 12GB of dynamic RAM and 16GB RAM for the higher-end realme Pad 2. It will be available from October 13, and early adopters will receive a free TechLife Portable Blender worth P999 (around $18) with each purchase of the tablet until the 19th.
In the Philippines, the realme Pad 2 has a suggested retail price of P13,999 ($246) for the base model, while the 8GB/256GB config is priced at P17,999 ($316). Your color options are Inspiration Green and Imagination Grey.
The new generation brings a larger, 11.5-inch 2K display with a 5:3 aspect ratio, up from the original Pad’s 10.4-inch screen. Additionally, the panel supports a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, one billion plus colors, and 450 nits of peak brightness for better outdoor visibility.
Pricing, freebie, and availability details
Inside, realme has upgraded the Pad 2’s chipset as well, with the tablet sporting a more powerful and efficient MediaTek Helio G99 processor coupled with Cortex-A76 performance cores, six Cortex-A55 cores, and dual-core Mali-G57 graphics. It’s also powered by a larger, 8,360mAh battery that offers 33-watt fast wired charging, or almost double that of its predecessor.
You get a fingerprint reader embedded into the power button, to go along with four speakers for a surround-sound experience, an 8-megapixel camera on the back, and a 5-megapixel selfie shooter. Naturally, the realme Pad 2 comes with a nano-SIM slot for 4G data and runs the company’s custom overlay built specifically for tablets based on the Android 13 operating system.
Overall, it looks like the realme Pad 2 is a big improvement over the previous model across the board. It starts with a more affordable price at launch, too, so it’s probably worth checking out if you’re in the market for a new Android tablet.
