The OnePlus Ace 2 Pro ruled Antutu’s performance ranking in China for September 2023. How about on the global flagship-smartphone market?
According to the benchmarking platform’s latest report, the RedMagic 8 Pro Plus topped the charts last month, achieving a whopping average benchmark score of 1,630,559 in version 10 of the app. Recall that the gaming phone debuted in China in December 2022. It’s equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, a maximum of 16GB RAM, up to 1TB storage, and a 5,000mAh battery with support for 165-watt of fast charging.
Hot on the heels of the RedMagic 8 Pro Plus was another gaming smartphone, the ASUS ROG Phone 7, with 1,607,911 points. It’s also built around Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, which is manufactured by TSMC using its 4nm process. The 5G SoC delivers around 35% faster performance as well as 40% better power efficiency compared to the previous generation, courtesy of a new core layout and improvements to the AI.
The Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro with — you guessed it, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 — took the third and fourth spots, respectively, followed by the Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus and Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. The latter two premium Android smartphones likewise rely on Qualcomm’s flagship mobile platform, but with a bit of twist: The chip has been optimized to run on a higher prime clock speed along with a slightly overclocked GPU. The same SoC powers the regular version of the Galaxy S23, which came in eighth place.
The last Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 model that made it to the Antutu list included the OnePlus 11 at No. 9. Another device based on Snapdragon — Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1, specifically — came in 10th with a 1,342,785 monthly average benchmark score. We’re referring to the Lenovo Legion Y70. Only the Redmi K60 Ultra, at No. 7, doesn’t use Qualcomm; it’s equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 9200 Plus chipset.
