Following the release of the TECNO POVA 5 Free Fire Special Edition in the Philippines, the company has quietly teased the arrival of the series’ top-end model on the local market.
The TECNO POVA 5 Pro 5G is now listed on the brand’s official Lazada and Shopee stores, with the availability scheduled for September 6 if you purchase the phone on Shopee. Based on the listings we found, the version with 8GB of physical RAM and 256GB of onboard storage has a suggested retail price of P10,999 (about $194 converted) in the Philippines, though it will go for as low as P9,999 ($177) during its initial sale period.
It will arrive in black and silver colors, both sporting customizable RGB strip lights at the back, similar to the Nothing Phone 1 and Nothing Phone 2 and Infinix GT 10 Pro 5G. And like the latter, the TECNO POVA 5 Pro 5G is aimed squarely at those who are looking for an affordable gaming-focused smartphone that has the credentials to back its hype. And, truly, we’ve never seen anything like it in its price segment.
What we at Revü have spotted
The RGB strip lights on the rear panel can show nine different colors, while the rest of the unit features what TECNO Mobile calls a 3D Mecha Design to give it a cleaner futuristic vibe. Adding to the gaming experience, the POVA 5 Pro 5G incorporates a large 2,820 mm² vapor chamber and a graphene heat sink to help cool down its internals, which is headlined by a 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 6080 chipset.

The built-in lithium-polymer, on the other hand, is rated at 5,000mAh and supports fast charging up to 68 watts using the included charger and cable. The company says the phone should be able to go from zero to 50% in just 15 minutes, and that sounds impressive on paper. Other notable specs include a 6.78-inch IPS LCD FHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 50-megapixel main camera, a 16-megapixel selfie shooter, stereo speakers and support for wireless high-resolution audio playback, and TECNO’s own HiOS 13 overlay based on Android 13.
