This just in: Benchmarking software Antutu has released its latest performance rankings in China for August 2023, featuring the best-performing Android phones in the flagship and sub-flagship segments.
So which handsets got included on the lists, and what chipsets do they use? If you’re one of those who check Antutu benchmarks scores from time to time, join us in taking a look at the results of each category.
Top 10 flagship smartphones
The newly launched OnePlus Ace 2 Pro edged out the iQOO 11S by a few thousand points, with the former scoring an average of 1,648,735 and the unit from the vivo sub-brand getting a 1,645,393 rating.
Interestingly (or perhaps unsurprisingly?), both devices are powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 5G chip. In fact, all the models that made it onto the list rely on the same SoC, with the RedMagic 8S Pro Plus using the overclocked or enhanced version. Recall that recent rankings in the premium space have been dominated by units with Snapdragon processors.
Top 10 sub-flagship smartphones
Compare the July ranking with August’s, and you’ll see that the everything here remained the same, from Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 12 Turbo Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 2-powered smartphone retaining the pole position to the OnePlus Ace with MediaTek Dimensity 8100-Max landing 10th place.
Most of the models included here run on MediaTek chips. Only two depend on Qualcomm’s platform, with the two front runners — the Redmi Note 12 Turbo, of course, and the realme GT Neo5 SE — using the same Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 2 SoC.
