Apple has sent out invitations to its next iPhone event happening on September 12 (that’s September 13 in the Philippines) at the company’s corporate headquarters in the U.S. Last year, Apple’s keynote event for the iPhone 14 smartphone series was held on September 7.

(Update, September 13: Here’s how much the Apple iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max are in the Philippines!)

Apple will surely announce the new iPhone 15 lineup during the event it calls Wonderlust, but expect other products as well, including the Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2. A new iPad mini and the rumored AirPods Lite could also make their debut alongside the company’s latest phones.

Speaking of which, it looks like we will be seeing four iPhone 15 models this year, according to the latest reports. The lineup likely includes a regular iPhone 15, a larger iPhone 15 Plus, and a higher-specced iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. Rumors suggest the latter might be called the iPhone 15 Ultra, similar to how Apple revamped its smartwatch series.

Those hoping for a major design overhaul may feel disappointed, with the most notable hardware change possibly coming in the form of a port change. Apple has reportedly axed its proprietary Lightning port in favor of a USB-C connection that can bring faster charging speeds to the upcoming iPhones. The U.S. technology giant is also rumored to unveil new green, yellow, and pink finishes to its mainstream models, while the iPhone 15 Pro models could all have muted colors, like those seen below.

Possible dates to remember

In terms of screen size, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro could sport a 6.1-inch display similar to last year’s models, whereas the iPhone 15 Plus might arrive with a 6.7-inch screen, just like the iPhone 15 Pro Max (or Ultra).

As for the processor, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will reportedly inherit the 4nm A16 Bionic chipset from the previous generation, putting them on a par with the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max in terms of raw performance and gaming chops. The latest A17 Bionic chip, on the other hand, might be exclusive to the higher-end models, in a bid to upsell them. We’ll know for sure in a few weeks.
