Another midrange phone from the nova lineup is now available in the Philippines. Following the local launch of the Huawei nova 11 series, we found the successor to the nova Y90 listed on both Lazada and Shopee. We can’t confirm if the listings are official, though.
(Update, July 28: The Huawei nova Y91 and Huawei nova Y71 start at P9,999 [$182] in the Philippines!)
(Update, July 12: We’ve got confirmation that the Huawei nova Y91 is coming to the Philippines. Price will be announced end of July! Wait for it.)
The new Huawei nova Y91 boasts the same rear design as its predecessor, but adds some polish to the circular camera module around the back, accenting it with a gold outer ring this time around. The front of the phone also features an extended notch for the 8-megapixel selfie camera, as opposed to last year’s punch-hole cutout.
Truth be told, the overall look of the nova Y91 gives us the Mate 50 Pro vibes. If only the screen had curves on the sides just like Huawei‘s Mate series flagship.
The other obvious selling point here, besides the design, is the battery life. Impressively, the nova Y91 packs a massive 7,000mAh cell, which should deliver days of usage on a single charge. The battery supports fast charging at up to 22.5 watts using the included power brick and cable.
Other notable specs include a 6.95-inch FHD+ LCD display with a refresh rate of 90Hz, a 50-megapixel main camera, and an efficient 6nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 4G chipset. Talking about the software, the Huawei nova Y91 also runs EMUI 13 out of the box.
