Roll out the red carpet. Huawei‘s most advanced and most luxurious smartwatch yet is finally launching in the Philippines tomorrow, June 9.
The Huawei Watch Ultimate, which we first got our hands on during a trip to China in April, is a flagship rugged smartwatch aimed at divers as well as users who frequently engage in outdoor activities, such as hiking, biking, and camping.
And yes, with its price point and features, this product directly competes with the Apple Watch Ultra, which starts at P52,990 (around $944) at local retail. By contrast, Huawei’s top-end watch carries a more palatable retail price of P39,999 ($712) in the Philippines.

Designed to survive harsh conditions — and particularly, for recreational diving and technical diving — the Huawei Watch Ultimate can submerge up to 100 meters without any problems. The Apple Watch Ultra is waterproof as well, but only up to 40 meters. That means the Watch Ultimate should remain operational in much deeper waters to help professional divers track their dives with great precision.

Additionally, the device can last up to 24 hours underwater down to depths of 110 meters, thanks to its 16 water-resistant structures. The circular display measures 1.5 inches and uses LTPO AMOLED technology with a dynamic refresh rate from 1Hz to 60Hz for longer battery life. In fact, the Huawei Watch Ultimate should be able to deliver 14 days of typical usage on a single charge with its 530mAh battery.
The smartwatch also supports fast charging as well as wireless charging via the Qi standard. With the magnetic charger that ships in the box, you can enjoy much quicker charging times — zero to full in just 60 minutes, according to the company.
As expected, the Huawei Watch Ultimate packs sensors that will allow you to keep track of your blood oxygen, heart rate, sleep, stress levels, and ECG. It also comes with multi-band GPS, making it an ideal companion for fitness and health enthusiasts.
