Tecno Mobile Philippines has a new budget smartphone in town, launched alongside other Spark 10 series models such as the Tecno Spark 10 Pro.
The Hong Kong-based company is now selling the Tecno Spark 10C on its official Shopee store, with the handset carrying a suggested retail price of P5,499 (around $98) and a discounted price of P4,699 ($84). It shares many similar specs as the regular Tecno Spark 10 that starts at P5,699 ($102) for the base model with 4GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
Locally, the Spark 10C is available in Meta Black, Meta Blue, and Meta Green colors. Like the vanilla model, it is equipped with dual cameras on the back, with the 16-megapixel main cam paired with a depth sensor for portrait shots.
The phone also sports a 6.6-inch LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a 5,000mAh battery that supports 18-watt fast charging over USB-C, same as the Spark 10. The 8-megapixel front camera for selfies is retained as well, but the primary sensor at the back is nowhere near as sharp as the 50-megapixel shooter on the standard variant.
The biggest change, apart from the rear sensor, is that the Tecno Spark 10C ships with a Unisoc T606 4G chipset with a Mali-G57 GPU instead of the MediaTek Helio G37 processor found in the Spark 10. The Unisoc chip boasts faster CPU cores and a more powerful GPU than the Helio G37, though both platforms are manufactured on a 12nm process. Still, if it’s more performance you’re after, you’re likely better off with the Spark 10C than the more camera-oriented Spark 10.
And because their prices are so similar, it all boils down to what you prioritize as a smartphone user. Either way, both budget models look good on paper.
