Just days after launching the OPPO Find N2 Flip flagship foldable smartphone, OPPO Philippines has turned its sights on the midrange market.
The company has announced that the OPPO A78 5G is now available in the country. The handset comes with a price tag of P14,999 (roughly $276) and is up for purchase offline and online, on OPPO’s official stores on Lazada and Shopee.
If the OPPO A78 5G looks familiar, it’s because you’ve seen the brand use it on devices such as the OPPO A17 and OPPO A17k. But underneath? The internals are almost the same as those of the OPPO A77s, which is selling for P12,999 ($239), P1,000 ($18) cheaper than its launch price of P13,999 ($258).
Everything — from the 5,000mAh battery with 33-watt fast-charging support to the 50-megapixel dual-camera system — is similar, except in the chipset and OS departments. The A78 5G comes equipped with a 7nm MediaTek Dimensity 700 5G processor and ships with Android 13-based ColorOS 13. The A77s, on the other hand, features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 4G CPU and Android 12 layered with ColorOS 12.1.
