Samsung has quietly launched a new addition to the A series family this month, following the announcement of the Samsung Galaxy A14 5G in Europe. The good news, if you’re a Samsung fan, is that we can confirm the phone is also headed to the Philippines.

We’re not sure when exactly, unfortunately. But the Galaxy A14 5G is already listed on Samsung’s official website for the Philippine market, meaning the device will certainly go on sale locally, likely through Samsung’s authorized retail partners here, although it may be offered by telcos Globe and Smart Communications as well.

You might recall that last year’s Samsung Galaxy A13 5G was priced at P13,990 (about $256) for 4GB RAM and 128GB of storage at launch in the Philippines. The top-shelf 6GB RAM version had a suggested retail price of P14,990 ($274).
The handset came with a 6.5-inch, HD+ TFT display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a triple-camera setup headlined by a 50-megapixel image sensor. It was also powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 700 5G chipset and a 5,000mAh battery that supports 15-watt USB-C charging.
By comparison, the Samsung Galaxy A14 5G jumps to a larger, FHD+ panel, but the refresh rate stays the same at 90Hz. It sports a sharper 13-megapixel selfie camera as well. Most of the specs, however, are holdovers from the previous model, so expect pretty much the same raw performance and image quality from the main camera. The battery is still 5,000mAh, too.
In the United States, the Galaxy A14 5G will carry a $199 (P10,887) suggested retail price when it hits stores January 12th. It will launch in Europe sometime in April for €229 (P13,466 or $246). Your color options are Black, Silver, and Light Green.
