A couple of days ago, we reported that the OPPO Reno8 T will finally make its debut in the Philippines on February 8. But how much will it cost when it hits stores presumably next month?
(Update, February 8: The OPPO Reno8 T has been launched in the Philippines!)
That’s the big question out there right now — and we might have the answer. We at Revü have spotted an ad listing for the Reno8 T that reveals the phone’s local price tag. According to the post, the OPPO Reno8 T will be priced at P18,999 (around $348 converted) in the Philippines. As a preorder offer, the phone will be bundled with a free pair of OPPO Enco Buds2 TWS earphones. While not detailed in the listing, the variant in question is likely the 8GB/256GB model, based on another post we saw.
The OPPO Reno8 T will arrive in at least two color options, with the orange variant sporting a fiberglass-leather back panel with some clever stitching around the pair of large camera rings. Additionally, OPPO‘s latest “portrait expert” will reportedly have two variants — one 4G variant and another that (obviously) supports 5G data.
It’s not clear if the price is for the 4G edition of the Reno8 T or its 5G edition, but our money is on the former. The images of the retail packaging we found online also does not mention “5G” in the smartphone’s moniker. But the company might also launch a cheaper 8GB/128GB model in the Philippines based on the information listed on OPPO’s microsite. It might still be a tough sell — even if the Reno8 T boasts a 100-megapixel Portrait Camera and a 40x microscope lens.
The recently announced HONOR X9a 5G, for example, comes with a lower price tag in the Philippines, retailing at P16,990 ($311). It also features a 6.67-inch 120Hz OLED display and an incredibly durable curved tempered glass screen that can survive some serious punishment, including dropping the phone screen-first on pavement from over a meter high and running over it with an adult on a scooter.
Other confirmed specs of the OPPO Reno8 T include a 6.43-inch AMOLED screen and a 5,000mAh battery that supports 33-watt fast charging. The 4G variant will allegedly sport a MediaTek Helio G99 processor as well. It’s the same chipset that powers the P10,999 ($201) Realme 10, which came out last year.
