Antutu’s most recent performance rankings of Android smartphones released in China, which feature the best-performing handsets in the flagship, sub-flagship, and midrange categories, is now out.
So which devices ruled the charts in July 2022? Which chipsets power them?
The high-end space was once again dominated by Qualcomm, with nine of the 10 phones on the list — headed by the RedMagic 7S, iQOO 10 Pro, and ASUS ROG Phone 6 — using the chipmaker’s Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 SoC. Not surprising, because the only chipset that could potentially rival the latter is the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 Plus, and it can be found only in one variant of the Xiaomi 12S Pro at this time. The said Xiaomi model landed 10th on the list.
Among sub-flagships, the OnePlus Ace claimed the top spot with an average benchmark score of 833,562. Hot on its heels was the OPPO Reno8 Pro Plus with an 830,815 average rating on Antutu. Both smartphones rely on the Dimensity 8100-Max processor. Go over the list, and you’ll find that all units in the first eight places are powered by SoCs manufactured by Taiwan’s MediaTek.
In the midrange category, the iQOO Z5, OPPO Reno8 Pro, Honor 70 (off-topic: Honor is making a comeback in the Philippines!) made their marks with scores that went as high as 576,564. Similar to the flagship group, Qualcomm once again flexed its muscles here, with nine of the 10 devices that made it in this ranking all based on Snapdragon chipsets. The lone MediaTek phone that got in last month was the Dimensity 900-powered iQOO Z5x.
