The Philippines is getting a couple of new flagship gaming smartphones next month. The Black Shark 5 and Black Shark 5 Pro will officially go on sale in the country beginning July 2 through offline and online channels.

In fact, both gaming phones are already listed on the Black Shark e-commerce store on Shopee Philippines, while the brand’s pop-up booth in SM City North EDSA will have the devices on hand, if you prefer to see them up close and in person before making your decision.

Locally, the Black Shark 5 series will be priced as follows:

For a limited time, customers who purchase the Black Shark 5 and Black Shark 5 Pro from July 2 to 18 will get a P1,000 ($18) discount, plus gaming-themed freebies, including a set of USB-C earphones, a Black Shark Gamepad 2.0, and a Black Shark Gamepad Holder.

To recap, the vanilla model is built around the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 platform, while the Pro variant is powered by the gaming powerhouse that is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. Besides offering 5G connectivity, both phones come equipped with a 144Hz AMOLED display as well as physical pop-up gaming triggers.

More impressively, both devices ship with a 4,650mAh battery for all-day endurance and support 120-watt fast cable charging out of the box. Black Shark says the phones should be able get a full charge in just 15 minutes, which is impressive even in 2022. The Black Shark and Black Shark 5 Pro also boot Joy UI 13 based on Android 12.
