Infinix Mobile‘s first 5G phone is scheduled to launch in the Philippines next week, but surprise, surprise, the device is already being sold online. Officially at that.
The Infinix Zero 5G is now up for purchase on Shopee for P10,999 (roughly $209). The unveiling is set for March 25, while its availability is supposedly still on March 28. We’re not sure if the P10,999 price tag is just a limited-time offer or the regular one. Nevertheless, that’s competitive for the value the smartphone offers, at least on paper.
The Infinix Zero 5G uses the same 5G-enabled chip as the newly launched OPPO Reno7 5G, a MediaTek Dimensity 900, which is fabbed on a 6nm process and features two Cortex-A78 performance cores and a Mali-G68 GPU. The SoC paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.
The 6.78-inch FHD+ screen has a high refresh rate of 120Hz, though the panel is of the LCD kind. The battery is rated at 5,000mAh and should be filled up quite quickly, as it supports up to 33 watts of fast charging. There are three cameras on the back, headlined by a 48-megapixel sensor, while the front is 16 megapixels. The power key doubles as a fingerprint sensor. And the user interface is based on Android 11; Android 12 will supposedly roll out starting August.
All three Infinix Zero 5G color variants that debuted globally are up for grabs in the country.
