Samsung Electronics‘ mobile division has kicked off 2022 with the launch of its second Fan Edition smartphone at the International CES 2022 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Meet the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G, which will become available starting January 11. In the United States, the 6GB/128GB model is priced at $699 (around P35,902 converted).
Here in the Philippines, the 8GB/128GB variant costs P38,990 ($759), while the version with 256GB of storage is retailing at P41,990 ($817). Preorder it from today, January 4, to the 10th from any of the the following platforms, and you’ll get a free pair of Samsung Galaxy Buds Live valued at P7,990 ($155): the company’s official online shop, a Samsung Experience Store, an authorized Samsung store, Lazada, Shopee, Abenson Online, and MemoXpress Online.

The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G looks like the higher-end models of the S21 series without the higher price tags and the more premium build (it’s made of plastic). It features a Samsung Exynos 2100 or Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chip, depending on the market. Unfortunately, as always, the Philippines is getting the former.
This fan-favorite edition comes with a 12-megapixel main rear sensor assisted by a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens and an 8-megapixel telephoto camera; a 32-megapixel selfie shooter; and a 6.4-inch AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. You’ll also find an under-display fingerprint sensor and a 4,500mAh battery that supports up to 25 watts of fast wired charging and a maximum of 15 watts of wireless charging. The system runs OneUI 4 based on Android 12.
Given that the Samsung Galaxy S22 series is expected to launch in February, we wonder if it’s wise to buy the Galaxy S21 FE 5G. By that time, the other S21 phones in the lineup, which currently start at P47,990 ($935), will likely go on sale.
