At the moment, it’s unclear if the OPPO Reno6 Z that will debut in the Philippines has a 5G modem indeed, just like the version that will go official in Thailand on July 21. We’re assuming it does. (Update: Yes, it does, according to the company’s local website.)
Expect to see a the latter to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 800U, as previously reported. OPPO’s 30-watt VOOC Flash Charge technology should be onboard as well, in addition to a 6.43-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen with a 60Hz refresh rate and a 4,310mAh battery. The 5G-capable Reno6 Z is also expected to boot ColorOS 11 on top of Android 11 out of the box.

OPPO Reno6 Z and OPPO Reno6 Philippine launch teaser. On the local site, you’ll see celebrity James Reid join brand ambassador Nadine Lustre. So wait, James is endorsing OPPO now?
Elsewhere, the phone’s quad-camera setup at the back is said to sport a 64-megapixel main sensor, assisted by 8- and 2-megapixel ones for ultra-wide and macro shots. The selfie shooter supposedly packs 32 megapixels. Visually, the Reno6 Z keeps in line with the aesthetic of the Reno 5 series, featuring slightly curved edges on the rear.
For better or worse, we can’t say the same about the OPPO Reno6 5G, which has flat metal sides like the Apple iPhone 12 models. The boxier look matches the flat 6.43-inch AMOLED display nicely.
The Reno6 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 900. The 6nm chip pairs two Cortex-A78 cores with a Mali-G68 MC4 GPU, up to 12GB RAM, and a 5G modem. It is said to be significantly faster than the Snapdragon 765G (and Snapdragon 750G) and Dimensity 800U. Keeping the lights on is a 4,300mAh battery that supports 65-watt fast charging.
In China, the smartphone’s base model with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage is priced at ¥2,799 (around P21,562 or $433 sans taxes).
