Local telco challenger DITO Telecommunity said Thursday that it has expanded to 18 more locations in the Philippines, bringing its total covered areas to 158 cities and municipalities.

You might recall that DITO’s coverage started with 15 pilot areas when it had its commercial launch back in March. The company is set to undergo its second technical audit this month to see if it has complied with its second-year service commitments.

Earlier in May, Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte signed a law renewing the franchise of the country’s third telco for another 25 years, from its expiration on April 24, 2023, unless sooner revoked or cancelled. DITO previously said it had more than a million subscribers as of mid-June, within three months of its commercial rollout.

The 18 new locations where DITO’s cellular services are now available include the following:

  • Alfonso, Cavite
  • Alitagtag, Batangas
  • Basista, Pangasinan
  • Bauan, Batangas
  • Bayugan, Agusan Del Sur
  • Binmaley, Pangasinan
  • Kabankalan, Negros Occidental
  • Llanera, Nueva Ecija
  • Maco, Davao De Oro
  • Mangatarem, Pangasinan
  • Mataas na Kahoy, Batangas
  • Ramos, Tarlac
  • San Manuel, Pangasinan
  • San Pascual, Batangas
  • Santo Domingo, Nueva Ecija
  • Talisay, Batangas
  • Trento, Agusan Del Sur
  • Valladolid, Negros Occidental

Special DITO prepaid offers until September 30

To welcome new users, DITO is extending its P199 (roughly $4) prepaid offer until the end of September. It comes with 25GB of data; unlimited texts and 300 minutes of calls to other networks; and unlimited DITO-to-DITO calls valid for 30 days. There’s also a P99 ($2) offer which comes with 10GB of data for 30 days, plus unlimited DITO-to-DITO calls, 300 minutes of calls to all networks, and unlimited SMS to all numbers.

Assuming you already have a DITO SIM card, you can subscribe to the promo using the DITO app for Android and iOS devices. If you don’t have a SIM card yet and want to order one, you can buy it from the company’s e-shop or official store on Lazada or Shopee.
