OnePlus just welcomed the newest member of its almost-one-year-old midrange line.

This is the OnePlus Nord Core Edition 5G, or simply OnePlus Nord CE 5G, and you can call it the more affordable version of the original Nord — but a wee bit lighter and thinner and with a bigger battery and a sharper main camera on the back. The launch of the smartphone also signals the comeback of the 3.5mm jack.

In India and Europe, the different variants of the OnePlus Nord CE 5G are priced as follows:

• 6GB RAM + 128GB: ₹22,999 (roughly P15,028 or $315)
• 8GB RAM + 128GB: €329 / £299 / ₹24,999 (P16,337 or $342)
• 12GB RAM + 256GB: €399 / £369 / ₹27,999 (P18,299 or $383)

Good news for Philippine-based consumers who are eyeing this latest OnePlus model: The 5G-ready handset will be released locally. Soon, OnePlus Philippines’ post says, so we’ll just have to stay tuned for the exact launch date.

The OnePlus Nord CE 5G boasts a 4,500mAh battery that the brand says can be charged from 0% to 70% in as fast as 30 minutes, thanks to an improved Warp Charge 30T Plus technology. The primary rear sensor is already 64 megapixels, and it’s assisted by an 8-megapixel camera for ultra-wide-angle images and a 2-megapixel one for mono shots. Plus the phone’s 6.43-inch AMOLED screen should still be smooth, thanks to a 90Hz refresh rate.

The Nord CE 5G likewise gets an 8nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G chip, a 16-megapixel selfie camera, a fingerprint reader underneath the display, and Android 11 on top of the company’s OxygenOS 11.
